~Sky Point / Lot System~ |

How You Earn Points 1. Attend Sky Raids At Linkshell Sky Raids, points are awarded hourly, with bonus points added for both punctuality and items dropped. Attending Raids should become a top priority if you're serious about obtaining end-game items from Sky. What qualifies as a Raid? All Raids will be scheduled on the Forums and include at least one CoF Officer in the party/alliance who is responsible for recording member attendance and hours as well as collecting drops and trigger items for the Linkshell Bank. A Raid will usually consist of multiple 'Events' such as farming God trigger items from the several different Sky NM's. Each Raid's goals will be spelled out in the post where that Raid is scheduled. There will be times that the goals are very specific (like when we need just one more trigger item to pop a Sky God) and there will be times when it is more general (like when we're low on trigger items so we're just heading up there to Widescan and see which NM's are up). Either way, we will be posting both strategies and a Sky NM Drops & Point Values listing on the site. You'll be expected to become familiar with each over time and make sure to bring the appropriate gear/food/weapons/sub-job with you for whichever mobs are the goal for that particular Raid. What are the Point Values while on a Raid? - While on a Raid you will earn 10pts/hour, receive a 15pt bonus for showing up on time and staying until the end of event call (without excesseive afk or d/cing) and earn a variable point bonus (depending upon mob difficulty) for each trigger item successfully obtained. We have currently compiled a list of Sky NM Drops & Point Values here. Most Items are worth either 6, 12 or 18 points based on mob difficulty. Points for Item Drops are split between each CoF member in attendance at the time of the kill. Points will be rounded up or down (There will be no 'half points' assigned for Items). - God kills will be rewarded a flat 10 points for a success and Kirin a flat 30 points. There will be no hourly or item drop points given on God kills. If a Raid consists of both Trigger Item farming and God Kill Events, you will still earn hourly and item drop bonuses for the Trigger events, but the hourly timer stops after the Trigger NM's are done and any God kill afterward will then be a flat 10 points earned. - Hourly Points will be rounded up or down by the half hour. Meaning: If we farm for 2 hours and 16 minutes you will receive 25 hourly points, but if you farm for 2 hours and 8 minutes you will receive only 20 hourly points. Times will be rounded up or down from the 15 and 45 minute marks. There will be no quarter hour points. 2. Attend Non-Sky Linkshell Raids Non-Sky Linkshell Raids will include Events such as Hakutaku and Bomb Queen runs. During these type of Raids non-trading attendees will earn a 15pt bonus for showing up on time and staying until the end of event call (without excesseive afk or d/cing). Any attendee who is trading trigger items (and receiving drop items) will not earn points for that run and will be expected to stay until all fights are finished. If the drop Item is not Rare/Ex (and therefore worth gil) anyone trading trigger items (and receiving drop items) will have two options at that point: 1. You can inform us that you intend to keep and use the item, in which case there is no fee. 2. You can inform us that you intend to sell the item, in which case you will pay a 15% commission to the LS Bank when the item sells. If for some reason you first decide that you would like to keep the Item, but later decide to sell it, you will still be expected to pay the LS Bank 15% when it sells. Scheduling procedure for these events will be identical to a Sky Raid. 3. Obtain Trigger Items On Your Own - You can turn in Trigger Items that you either farmed on your own, or won lots on in Exp Parties to the Linkshell Bank for points. Again, please refer to the Sky NM Drops & Point Values page for a list of values. Each CoF member present when the Trigger NM dies will receive the turn-in value. For Instance: You are in an Exp PT in Sky that contains 2 CoF members and 4 random people. You get a Diorite that pops Ullikummi. When the Diorite (worth 6 points) drops, everyone lots. One of the 2 CoF members in attendance wins the lot. Each of the 2 CoF members that were present at the ToD would receive 6 points when the Diorite is turned in. - It is important to note that no hourly points will be awarded for time spent farming or exping outside of scheduled Linkshell Raids. This option rewards results only, but can still be a nice way for a small group of experienced Sky Farmers to go earn some points on their own time. We'd like to encourage you to farm Trigger Items for points any time you like, but please check with a LS Officer before you do in order to find out which items the LS Bank needs at that time. (We're not really trying to have 10 different people turn in a Gem of the East each week). Who Keeps Track Of Our Points? Raid Points: Each Raid will have a Linshell Officer designated to record all pertinent information surrounding that particular Raid (attendance, drops, etc.). The LS Officer in charge of a particular Raid will record and enter the information into our DKP system. You can all use this system to view the current LS Point standings of every member of the LS as well as use it to check what items the LS Bank currently has 'In stock' and ready for purchase with your points. Item Turn-In Points: These will be assigned immediately to your LS Point account by whichever LS Officer you turn the item in to. They will show up on your account as a "Sky: Trigger Farming - Outside Standard Event Time" raid and will have a brief description that includes the name of the item you turned in. Yay! I Have Points!!! Umm... Now What? Spending Points & Lotting Items: As noted previously, when a Raid is scheduled the goals of that Raid will be spelled out. It is your responsibility to look up the NM's and the possible drops for that Raid on our Sky NM Drops & Point Values page. The reason that this is so important to have done the day before the Raid is that many items that drop in Sky are Rare/Ex and will not be able to be 'held onto' by the LS Bank. Once an item drops that you are interested in and have a job leveled that can equip the item, send a tell to the designated officer immediately after it drops. The officer will then determine who gets to lot on the item. How do we determine who gets to lot on an item? Each member has the ability to determine how valuable they feel an item is worth based on our bid system. When an item drops, each member interested in the item will send a tell to the officer in charge listing which item they are interested in and how many points they wish to bid on the item (a person can not go negative on points with these tells). Since this is all done in tell it is basically a closed bid. No one will know how many points everyone else is putting in for an item. There will be minimum bid values. The minimum bid values are the current values set for all drops. No one may obtain an item for less points unless an item is auto-lotted in which case it is zero points. Someone may go in to negative points if no one else wants an item and they do not have enough points for the minimum value. People able to equip items will take precedence over anyone that can not regardless of points. Final calls are at the officer's discretion. The officer in charge will then announce who may lot the item and how many points they have spent. Officers wishing to bid on items will not be the officer taking tells for the item. *In the highly unlikely event that we end up with a tie at this point, both members will be allowed to lot when the Item drops. All synthesis items are listed in DKP for members to view. They may then be requested on the forums. An officer will respond to the thread stating that a 24 hour bid time is now open. From that point, all members wishing to bid on the item will send a private message to the officer that responded stating how many points they wish to bid for the item. After the 24 hour period, the officer will respond with who won the bid and how many points were used. Synthesis Item drops will be handled as if they were the final crafted item with regard to deciding who gets to lot on them. *Meaning that if someone wants to lot on a shining cloth, we know that they're doing it to make a Noble's Tunic. Therefore, we treat it as if it were a Level 68 WHM piece of equipment that was dropping. If a Non-Rare/Ex item drops that nobody has enough points to lot on, it will go to the LS Bank until someone earns enough points to buy it. If more than one person earns enough points to buy it at the same time they will /random for the right to buy the item. What happens to the items that drop on a Raid that people don't desire to lot on? Those items will most likely fall into one of the three categories listed below. 1. Items not listed on the Sky NM Drops & Point Values page. Examples would include things like Scrolls, Haku Eyes, Vile Elixers etc. Those items will go to the Linkshell Bank which will then either: A. Sell the items in Bazaar or on AH. B. Sell any of the dropped items to any LS Member that wants them at a 15% discount from the 'going rate' for that item. 2. Sellable items that are listed on the Sky NM Drops & Point Values page but that nobody currently wants to lot on. Examples would most likely include High-Level Synthesis Materials that nobody needs at the time of their drop. Those items will go to the Linkshell Bank which will then either: A. Hold onto the items for a pre-determined amount of time (most likely 2 weeks) in which members will be reminded that it is in the Linkshell Bank available for purchase with points or with gil. If no LS Member decides to purchase the items within the 2 weeks, the items will then follow the normal procedure of Bazaar or AH and then gil distribution to Raid Attendees less the standard 15% for LS Bank. B. Alternatively, LS Officers can vote to keep high-level synthesis Items in the LS Bank for later crafting into their respective items (using the LS Bank gil to accomplish this) which will then be offered to LS Members for either points or gil. 3. Rare/Ex Items that are listed on the Sky NM Drops & Point Values page but that nobody currently wants to lot on. Those items will be Auto-Lotted by the game. There will never be a 'Free Lot'. If you cast a lot on a Rare/Ex Item, you will be charged the appropriate point value for that item. If you truly have no interest in lotting on a Rare/Ex Item, then you certainly shouldn't care if it gets Auto-Lotted to someone else. I won a lot on a High-Level Synthesis Item... Now what are my options for getting it crafted? You have two different options for getting your gear crafted: 1. If you won the lot on the item... You can obviously just pay the point cost for that item, buy the remaining ingredients yourself and take it to whomever you'd like to get your item crafted by. In this scenario all associated costs and risks in getting your final item crafted are assumed completely by the lot winner. Please just be aware that if your synth breaks, you will have lost your item and your points that you paid for it. 2. Alternately, you can immediately turn the Synth Item back in to the LS Bank which will then buy the remaining ingredients and attempt to get the item you want crafted for you. If the Synth succeeds, you (and only you) will be allowed to buy the finished item from the LS Bank for either the point value assigned to the finished item (usually higher than just the High-Level Synthesis Item that you originally won the lot on) or for the going rate in gil minus the standard 15% discount. If the synth fails however, you lose no points and no gil. This way the LS Bank essentially assumes all associated risks in getting your item crafted, but at a higher net point cost to you in the end if the synth succeeds. What is done with the Linkshell Bank money? 1. When excess funds are available in the LS bank, these will be made available for LS members to purchase durable goods (not consumables, and not straight-up cash). Points can be traded in at a rate of 10,000 gil per point ($1mil gil = 100 points). Items will be purchased by the bank, and given to the member requesting, and records will be kept of who was given what items here. Items obtained in this way may never be sold, or given away, but as with non r/ex sky drops may be returned to the bank at any time should you outgrow the item, for a full points refund, such that others might use the item. 2. When excess funds are available in the bank, we will go down the list of members in order of most current points. Each member may choose whether or not they would like to have the bank purchase anything for them, there is no restriction on items to be purchased, but sackholders may refuse to allow funds to be used on items deemed frivalous or excessive (KC, striders, HQ cursed, etc.). 3. Once a member has received an item in this way, that member will not be eligible to access bank funds again until every other member has had an opportunity to use the bank funds. 4. The minimum number of points accumulated over time to qualify will be 300, as a result, newer members of the LS may have to wait for a second run through the list before they are given this opportunity. |
